Our actions

Since 2013, the Lil Lunch Boxes program is available for free in 11 Sherbrooke schools. The program offers warm meals every day to children targeted by schools, who noticed children without lunches, insufficient lunches or lunches without food variety. Meals are then offered to those kids throughout the school year. This year, we have sponsored over 300 kids and served 50,000 free warm meals to schoolchildren. This program is provided in partnership with the Rock-Guertin Foundation and the Christian Vachon Foundation.

Before, La Grande Table offered a family restaurant service on-site. Faced with the growing needs of Sherbrooke families, we created a frozen, take-out meal service: the Chef’s Best. After showing a proof of income, people or families may buy meals for $1 or $2.75 each, depending on their income. Frozen meals are also sold, regardless of income, for about $6 each. This service is offered in partnership with the Cégep de Sherbrooke and the Université de Sherbrooke. Since its creation in 2020, our affordable meal service is growing by 30% every year. In 2023, we served more than 75,000 meals to low income individuals and families in Sherbrooke.
